Most beautiful place in Malaysia??

If you’re looking for a #ShortGetaway Sabah, Malaysia is srsly the best option you can find 🤩

My friend n I literally booked our ✈️ tickets 20 hours before the flight and it was still super cheap ($135 round trip, Scoot)

Sabah has the best of both worlds, they have New Zealand-like grasslands, mountains 🏔 , and Maldives-vibes beaches 🏖

🏝Beaches:

📍Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu (amazing sunsets and a night market for dinner too!

📍Tunku Abdul Rahman Park

- Total of 5 islands, only accessible by ferry

- How to get there: Go to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal, and either purchase tickets at the counter or online here

- We picked two islands: Manukan and Gaya island

- Gaya island was smaller and more secluded, highlight was the hike, while there are more activities at Manukan

⚠️ I wld avoid Mamutik Island bcos locals told us there r lots of sand flies🪰 there…

- We went on the hike in Gaya island and then we missed our ferry…. so we had to pay like 200RM for them to come back n ferry us… big L

🚙 Road trip to mountain area (Kinabalu)

- We rented a car to drive from Kota Kinabalu to Mount Kinabalu (around 3 -5 hours depending on traffic)

- Would not recommend motorbike for this, as the roads are quite dusty and prone to rain!

- Make sure you have an international license

- Funny story is that we found a bottle of pee in the car…

📍UNESCO heritage site: Kinabalu Park

- Pretty nice! requires an entrance ticket 15 MYR, $5 SGD

- would say it’s similar to Botanic Gardens but much more cooling and steeper inclines

📍Desa dairy farm

- kind of small but really quite nice, worth a drop by

- RM 5 entrance fee, $1 SGD each

- Only 3 time slots per day, so book in advance on their website

📍 Mesilou Highland Strawberry Farm

- lowkey a tourist scam… barely anything to do, more of a photospot, but not very nice, is quite cheap entry though (5RM), but it’s the same price as the dairy farm which is much nicer??

- barely any strawberries to see as well

- BASICALLY NOT worth going ❌
