The reality of Gilis T | Don't make our mistake ☹️🏝️

If you're active on TikTok you most likely would have come across the video of this girl talking about how gilis trawangan is an amazing island with a party scene, but here is EVERYTHING you need to know before considering to book your trip there! 🏝️

01 You HAVE to cycle everywhere else you either walk or take the horse but its IDR 150,000 One way which is really pricey. The bike we rented was IDR 50,000/pax for one day.

02 Cycling is fine ..... Except there's no proper path, since its a pretty small island the pathways are not properly built yet. There are still some paths, but most of the island is dirt road so it's bumpy and sometimes muddy! 😳

03 There's no light .... at first we thought we just picked a wrong area to lived in but turns out even the main street where the bars are has no lights too. See the picture, that's how dark it is 😭 (we made friends with the locals so they sent us back! hehe)

04 4 days 3 nights is too long — since it was known as a party island we thought we would be spending some time on it. However, the party scene is pretty mid it's not as lit as bali its abit more like bar vibes. I would suggest doing a 3D2N instead, one day spend island hopping & snorkelling, the other use to explore the main island.

05 Book a private tour — There's nothing much to do on the island other than tan, cycle, eat, drink. I would suggest booking a private tour for only IDR 1,200,000 for a free & easy tour to the different island + snorkelling. I'll share more details in my next post! 🤍

06 Choose the right bars! Some bars are so pricey where we spent IDR 529,000 on 4 drinks, while other bars we only paid IDR 450,000 for 10 Drinks 😳

A bar you need to visit is called General's Lee Tavern we made friend with the bartender called Nomi & he's the sweetest kiddo ever! He was the one that showed us around & even make sure we got home safe!

07 SO MANY KITTY CATS — a highlight for this island is that there's so many cats roaming, they're so friendly and adorable.
