GIRL Murphy 💗 - how I got my name

I’m Murphy but I’m a GIRL. Almost *everyone* gets this wrong, and we totally get it! But I’m girl Murphy - and wanted to share more about how I got my name.

Some people think it’s from Murphy Brown, but honestly mom still doesn’t know who that is haha. Nope!

It’s from the 2014 movie Interstellar! Have you seen it?!? It’s one of mom’s favorite movies of all time. I’m named after Murphy Cooper (Murph for short), the main character’s daughter, who ends up solving the movie’s biggest challenge and becomes a famous NASA scientist. She’s such an awesome representation of feminism in mass media and is a totally impressive bad*ss. (And I like to think I am too!)

It’s such an incredible role model and powerful character that my pawrents wished for me to embody. She’s immensely passionate (about her dad/family and space discovery), as I am about my family and my frisbee haha, and so deeply compassionate. Add it to your list if you haven’t seen it yet!
