Peace Lily Seeds

I was able to pollinate a peace lily ☺️ How cool is that? I've been trying to find information online on peace lily polination, but I couldn't find almost anything. So I decided to figure it out on my own. I mean, how difficult can it be? And it wasn't too difficult.⠀ ⠀

My peace lily flowers almost all year round. I thought it's a shame to have those flowers go to waste, so I wanted to see if I could get seeds.⠀ ⠀ I will be posting a video with a detailed procedure soon, but in a nutshell, you need to collect pollen from one flower and then pollinate the next flower that opens up.⠀ ⠀

Why? Because the female part of the flower opens up first. Once it closes, that flower will produce pollen. At that point it's too late to pollinate the same flower. You need to collect pollen and save it for the for the next flower that opens up. The female part only stays open for a short amount of time, maybe a day or two, I haven't really measured precisely. But you need to react quickly.⠀ ⠀
