A watering tip I haven't mentioned in the video: you can wait for the pearls to get softer when you press them between fingers and even a bit wrinkly before watering. ⠀ ⠀

When I mention direct sun, I am referring to very early morning sun, that is not too strong and won't burn the leaves. The reason I say this is most people don't give sufficient light to these plants. Not only these, but all plants actually.⠀ ⠀

Light intensity of direct sun is many times stronger than indirect light. This is why 2-3 hours of early morning sun that isn't too harsh on your plants can make a huge difference. Indirect light can go to about 20,000 lux (2,000 FC), but most of the time in our homes it's less than 5,000 lux (500FC), often times below 1,000 lux (100FC). But direct sun gives 40,000 to over 100,000 lux (4,000-10,000 FC). Notice the difference. So even 2-3 hours of direct sun make a big difference, for plants that can handle it.⠀ ⠀

Sunburns don't happen that often indoors, it's less of a reason to worry than the lack of light. Especially if you gradually acclimate a plant to it. Overwatering happens much more often. And good light will reduce the chances of overwatering. As plants get more light, they photosynthesize more, and the roots pull more water from the soil, helping it dry out faster.⠀ ⠀
