It is super important to be disciplined and show up for yourself even when you don't want to when chasing fitness goals. HOWEVER there are definitely times where you SHOULD just take the day off and skip the gym.

If your body is run down in any way, it may just be counterproductive to force yourself into working out and putting even more stress on the body. Poor sleep, injury, sickness and more make your body more vulnerable and working out puts stress on the body. It is good stress but it is not needed when you're already low. It is more beneficial to work on getting back to superior health and trying again the next day.

Give yourself some grace and know that it is okay to say no to working out some days. But don't be lazy with it! Try your best to find the middle ground. Just go for a walk instead if you have it in you.
