Here are a few health mindsets and strategies that I cannot stand. Sometimes you don't even realize how toxic these situations are until you're out of them! It is not completely your fault, I do feel we are not educated enough on a lot of this.

Working out should never be to earn your food or undo your food. You deserve to eat and fuel your body regardless of how many calories you burn. Creating this relationship with food and exercise may lead you to more resentment too. Eating too little is super dangerous too!

Another common mindset is people making one "mistake" and throwing away the rest of the day or quitting their journey and planning to restart later. If you think about it, fitness journeys are over long periods of time. Having one dessert, is a tiny tiny speck compared to months or years of being in a fitness journey. One "mistake" or one "cheat" or whatever you call it, is not that big of a deal. It can be a slippery slope though so know when its a one time thing or a habit that may need some attention.

With the new year coming up, many people plan to start their fitness journey on January 1st. Oftentimes they fall off by the time spring comes. I totally get the idea of it feeling like a fresh start, but if you really need a specific day, or specific variables to be in place for you to start your journey, it probably will not last. Why can't you start now? It does not have to be a night and day difference in your habits! Starting can be something small and that will eventually lead to bigger things.
