I lost over 20 lbs from 2021-2022 over the course of a few months. I changed my lifestyle and the main difference was much smarter choices in my eating habits and I started working out. My workouts were mostly incline walking using the 12 3 30 treadmill routine with a long cooldown to follow.

This was super sustainable and effective which is great! However, I have gotten into strength training since the past few months, and I wish I had been doing strength training for much longer. Strength training is so good for you! It is great for you metabolism, bones, and overall health. More lean muscle mass on your body also helps you burn more calories even at rest. This also gives you great muscle definition of course.

When losing weight with primarily cardio, I ended up feeling like I had the "skinny fat" look and wanted more muscle definition. So now I am on a muscle building journey! It is all a learning and evolutionary experience and I am so grateful for how far I have come and all that I have learned. But if I could go back, I would incorporate this right off the bat! So if you are on a weight loss journey, I would recommend learning about strength training.
