I have changed my mindset around working out the past few years. I love my newer view of exercise.

I used to think of working out as burning calories, working off my food, and something I had to drag myself to do.

Slowly, I started experiencing the great things exercise can do for my mental health. It gives me such clarity, helps my creative juices flow, and helps relieve stress and anxiety. Exercise became an escape for me, which is incredible.

After I got over dragging myself, and started appreciating all that exercise can do for me, I continued to evolve. Exercise still is insanely beneficial in those ways; however, I began switching from more cardio based exercises, to strength training. After making these changes, I decided to look at working out as training.

Using the word training gives me a sense of having something to work for, not just working out because I "need to work out". Weight lifting and strength training helps me set new and different goals and helps me continue to feel like I am bettering myself in so many ways. I love self improvement and to always be learning and growing, and the thought of training, feeds into that very well.
