Last night I wrote a prayer on the last pages of my prayer journal I started a year ago, prompting a reflection of how this has added to my walk with God as I prayed over everything that had happened and was felt over the past year.

🤍 My Reason:

A year ago, I decided to pick out a pretty journal and designate it as my Prayer Journal, wanting to start a new habit to see and document God’s faithfulness in my life. My prayers weren’t written every single day, and there were definitely times I wasn’t consistent in prayer during the year. But by God’s grace, I showed up even if it was imperfect, resting in the goodness of Jesus.

🤍How a Prayer Journal is Helpful:

Other than strengthening my faith through documenting, I started the Prayer Journal knowing I get distracted when I pray in my head. I wanted to fix this issue and become more intentional with the Lord. Writing my prayers helps me focus on the fact that I am speaking to God and that this time is for Him. So much fruit has come from being able to focus on my prayers and meaningfully speak to our Father. If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to start a Prayer Journal for yourself! You won’t regret it, and don’t worry about being perfect. Trust in God to help you be faithful in prayer.

🤍 My Takeaways:

God knows our hearts, and he knows what is best for us. He is so good and so faithful. He has answered prayers and/or has started the process of answering certain prayers. He has closed doors and opened doors I didn’t expect or understand. Some prayers I still pray and am still in the waiting, but nevertheless, he is faithful.
