You get that positive pregnancy test. You could be excited, scared, upset, nervous, so many things. But, now what?

Remember it’s your body your choice, no matter what you choose to do was the right decision FOR YOU! 🫶🏼

You call the OBGYN, tell them you got a positive pregnancy test. They’ll then schedule you an appointment for 7/8 weeks to go in for an ultrasound. I know that seems like a long time but try not to think about it and it’ll go by quick! If you’re anything like me, I found out when I was 3/4 weeks pregnant both times.

You go into your first appointment, and they’ll have you do a ton of paperwork. Then you get your vitals and weight checked. Next step is seeing baby on the screen!! You should go home with ultrasound pictures. You go to your doctor once a month until you’re 28 weeks!

At 9/10 weeks you may be offered by your OBGYN to get a screening done for early genetic testing/gender. It’s non invasive and will help you find out if your baby has any genetic issues. It takes about 2 weeks to come back or a month if there’s a high influx.

At 20 weeks you’ll get an anatomy scan or find out the gender if your doctor doesn’t do the genetic testing! Such a fun appointment cause you get to see baby for super long, but it can be overwhelming. Keep good thoughts though!

At 28 weeks you’ll get the glucose test. You might get a 1hr,2hr,or 3hr! It depends on what your doctor recommends for you. You will get your blood drawn before, during, and after. It’s not as bad as people make it seem. If you get a good flavor you should be good! It definitely can make you nauseous, try not to think about it though or throw up because you will have to restart all over again. 😫

You should expect to get the tdap between 27-36 weeks of pregnancy, it’s recommended but it’s your decision whether to get it or not as it does pass to baby for antibodies.

At 30 weeks you start going to the obgyn every 2 weeks until 36 weeks !! Yay!!! It’s not super fun as they just ask you a few questions and check on babies heartbeat but it’s always nice to hear that heartbeat.

At 36 weeks you go once a week until your due date. You may have a growth scan to check to see how baby is doing/weighing. These aren’t always accurate. In some cases they are,in some cases they are not! I recommend doing research because some doctors will try to induce you just by the ultrasound weight saying your baby is too big and that’s not always true and getting induced does come with some risks. So if you can go into labor without intervention I would highly recommend. You also will be asked if you want your cervix checked and that’s completely up to you! You will also get your GBS test!

40-41 weeks it’s baby time!! Congratulations and I hope you have a easy, beautiful, safe, and healthy delivery! 🩷✨ congratulations mama!! 🥰
