🤤life changing meals in Kyoto

📍Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu

was awaiting for this meal since the start of Kyoto,, the tonkatsu style beef was mouth watering,, you’re able to customise the doneness of the beef with a hot stone provided and the sound of meat sizzling always gets to me,, second ranked best meal as none comes close to hikiniku to come

we also ordered their regular tonkatsu dishes and it was also a hit,, not oily or make u sick of eating it, a perfect combination of fat and meat which is tender and duper yummy (ive heard that its recently opened a chain in sg too!)

📍Ramen miyako

famous ramen stall at gion! it was seriously could during our time in Kyoto and we had to warm ourselves up after fighting the cold in kimonos,, ramen definitely was the best way you’re greeted with the warm smell of broth when you enter the restaurant

their famous chicken broth ramen did not disappoint,, a mix of sweet and savoury flavours,, noodles are on the firmer side at the start and it slowly absorbs the soup and becomes a bit bloated

📍Hikiniku to come

the best meal I had in Kyoto hands DOWN,, they serve you three hamburgs with different recommendations to consume

they recommended starting without any sauce and eating about half of the hamburg on its own,, then you have the option of adding toppings to it, a raw egg is provided together with 3 different condiments

if I recall, there is radish, and a soy sauce combination type sauce and ive forgotten the last sauce but I think its a sauce that’s more tangy like yuzu of some sorts,, I am not a sauce girl by any means and if I were to have sauce it would just be simple soy sauce,, however, the hamburgs call for no sauce at all they do very well on their own! Miso soup is also available at self service and you order your meal at a kiosk before taking a seat
