💡 A traditional ABC order is arbitrary and bears no purpose other than providing us with a universal way of teaching it. But universal does not mean effective! Just because children learn to sing the ABC 🎶 song does not mean they can associate the letter shape with its sound!

It’s like memorizing the lyrics of a foreign song without 🤔comprehending the language.

So, let me show you a more phonetically fabulous approach, the Montessori way!

In a Montessori Language curriculum, we introduce letter sounds 🔊in phonetical teams rather than a rigid ABC order.

And those groupings have been proven to be most effective since those sets share similar sounds, and children can quickly combine them to form simple words.

This approach enhances their ability to read and write at an earlier stage, as they can start forming and decoding as many words as possible using the familiar sounds they have learned.
