Here to share a recent dining experience at a Sichuan restaurant located by the river at Boat Quay. I’ve always been drawn to restaurants by the river for the whole vibe - especially when the sun sets and you get the evening breeze.
📍 Tong Fu Ju Sichuan Restaurant (Boat Quay)
This Sichuan restaurant is nestled by the riverside, and offers authentic chinese cuisine. I was there for their sichuan buffet (they have an ala carte menu too). At $49.90 you get to eat their crayfish, grilled fish, and free flow of sichuan dishes. I think the setting and buffet is perfect for a group gathering! I initially thought that the portion of the dishes were small since it was a buffet but boy i was so wrong LOL it was a legit portion (just look at the pics!)
The sichuan flavours were really good, and the portion size was huge lol. Here are my fav dishes:
✨ fried mantou
✨ stir fried potatoes
✨ 辣子鸡 (dried chilli chicken??)
✨ mapo tofu
✨ crayfish (super substaintial!)
I wasn’t a huge fan of the grilled fish but I felt it was because I got the wrong flavour. I got it in tom yum and I found it a little too sour for my liking but my partner enjoyed it a lot tho!
Do check them out if you’re into Chinese or spicy food, looking for a date night spot with nice ambience or a gathering with friends to chill at one spot for long!
