How I travel around Taipei alone?

Let’s talk about how I travelled around in Taipei!

As I was in Taipei alone, I didn’t feel the need to take Uber as they usually go by distance and timing. I’ll state the prices, you can see for yourself. If you’re travelling as a group of 4, Uber would be good option 😬

Based on what I see daily when I checked to go to the area I’m heading to.

💰 Price for Uber - 300-500NT ($13-21SGD)

💰 Price for Train - 20-40NT ($0.8-1.80SGD)

💰 Price Bus - Start from 15NT ($0.65SGD）

⭐️ Let’s talk about the card to use!

I think there’s 3 types but I took the ipass as I’ve heard of them wayyyy back. It’s easy to get the card just use the machine, there’s a language option and you just purchase plus top up there!

Alternatively, if you wanna get cutesy cards/KEYCHAINS like what Korea have, buy the single journey ticket and then head to the family mart when you’re at Taipei Main Station (on the way to normal train lines, I was heading to Beimen). It has the most option, I regretted not getting it there and also regretted buying from the machine cause I thought the machine would have options to choose from 🥹

⭐️ Take the express train line to Taipei Main Station for only 25-30mins! 😉

⭐️ Remember the station name nearest to your hotel. As I only use google, sometimes I key in my hotel name they would give me a bus to another station and then from there take train.

⭐️ Do note that that there will be approx a 10mins walk when you arrive A1 to the normal train station side (where you’ll find the family mart, I had oat milk and bread there cause dying of hunger 🤣)

I stayed 8mins away from Ximen station which has two different train lines so majority of the time I don’t have to change train.

⭐️ Uber is cheap when I was done with ICHIRAN at 12am in a 💰 Price:Friday night approx 140NT from 101 area to Ximen, day time would have cost at least 350?

⭐️ Buses are pretty accurate, google has live location which was pretty good too. Do note that some buses has a longer waiting time.

⭐️ Please flag the bus when they arrive or they might not stop for you!

⭐️ No drinking or eating or be prepared to get fine ya! Once you pass the gantry no more Nom noms.

In my photo you can see they even indicate bus turning left/right/braking which was good as they have heavy foot I can’t use phone in the bus 🤭🫣
