My top 3 fav specialties 👀 👩‍⚕️

So I’m living by the motto of having an open mind and open heart throughout this journey and not tying myself down to any specialty but I can’t lie there are a few that are really pulling my heartstrings 😍 . These are in no particular order but don’t be surprised if you see me match into them in a couple of years 😂

Cardiology 🫀

I don’t know whether it’s how easy the content is to digest or the fact that I worked in cardiology for a year before starting school but this is on my heart..no pun intended 😂 . I just have always found cardiology really interesting and I think that the physiology just makes so much sense 😊

Emergency Medicine 🩻

Having 3 mentors in EM has probably influenced me a lot, especially in addition to just finishing my elective in ER and Trauma. I’ve enjoyed learning the clinical skills and interacting with patients, even in super high strung settings.

Hematology 🩸

This one snuck up on me a little bit this year 🤧 . My Outpatient experience was in hematology-oncology and my preceptor was amazing and made me develop a newfound love for heme. Also, our course in heme was so well ran that I have no choice but to stan!
