Three apps BESIDES Duolingo to Learn a Language

While Duolingo is an incredible app to learn a language, I think that there are some other apps that definitely deserve the spotlight:

1. Memrise: I used this app in college when I minored in Spanish. Our professor swore by this tool and she was not wrong. This app offers 23 languages and is great for those who want to learn vocab like locals speak. There are various different scenarios and topics to choose from so that you can focus on the type of learning that best suits you. This tool is great for all levels. (app and website available)

2. AnkiApp: I recently discovered AnkiApp and really wish I had heard of this tool sooner on my language learning journey. This app lets you either create your own or download from dozens of language flashcard decks. There are various formats that you can choose from depending on the style of flashcard that works best for you. For my ~lazier~ peeps, just search the language that you are interested in and choose from tons of decks!

3. Babbel: this tool is fun because you get to actually speak into the app and practice a very important part of language learning – talking!! This is designed for all levels and provides constructive feedback when making errors. It also offers various other ways to learn like built-in podcasts, games and videos.
