Step-by-step guide on how to make Minecraft pretty

This is for Java only! I tried to make the most simplified guide ever on how to add shaders to minecraft to make it look pretty-- I hope this help, and please reach out on DMs if you have any questions! 🥰

1. Install Optifine through their own website. This is the mod that makes you able to add shaders later!

2. Choose the Minecraft version you’re using under the 'Downloads' menu, the latest version is always at the top, and download.

3. Open the file. This is why it's java only-- it's a jar. file, and press install in the box that shows up.

4. Open Minecraft launcher

5. Press 'optifine' in the drop menu left of the play button. If it doesn't show up, try installing it again.

6. Download shaders! This is the fun part-- you can find a lot of them on curseforge.com, and there’s no need to unzip the files after download. Just download the ones that look appealing to you!

7. Launch minecraft with Optifine after you’ve downloaded the shaders you like, as shown in a previous step.

8. Go to the 'options' menu in game, then press 'video settings', and then there should be a 'shaders' button.

9. On this page, there is another 'open shaders folder' button, press it.

10. It opens a window to where your shaders should be, so go ahead and move your recently installed zip to this folder!

11. Select the shader you want to try out above, and done! 🫶☀️💚
