The key to balancing blood sugar is to balance your plate.
Protein + fats + carbs.
I aim for 20-30 grams of protein at every meal and like 10-15 with a snack if I have one.
Incorporating carbs (especially ones that are easily digestible like fruit) actually really help your blood sugar because they are way your body WANTS to use for energy. If it doesn’t get energy from carbs directly, it will turn to itself to create glucose, which also illicit a (slightly more stressful) blood sugar spike.
Fat helps slow down the absorption and increase nutrient uptake, especially with fat soluble vitamins like ADEK.
Fiber is important, but don’t overdo it. Too much fiber impairs digestion and can be really uncomfortable!
