What Being Goth Taught Me (with pictures)

Being Goth takes on a whole new outlook on life and here are a few of them.

Beauty in darkness and strange and unusual places. and me always trying to see the bright side of the dark side (as Ruby Gloom would say) and this also means trying to see from others point of views why they think something is beautiful.

Glad I got into reading poetry and classic novels I love the music don't get me wrong this just isn't the post for it (next one) and into writing myself I love poetry.

Getting piercings and not afraid of pain has done wonders with getting shots from the doctors not so much on drawing blood since the needle stays in the skin longer.

But being bold enough, having the courage and coolness to pull off piercings is something that will always be apart of me.

I was a skater type of Goth for a few of tween years before I turned 13 and started wearing make up. but I knew from books and media, that a lot of goths were vegetarians and vegans and entering the scene gave me the chance to start that diet choice for myself.

Gaining weight and cutting my hair short. are things I'd never except in life, but I wanted to see a different person when I looked in the mirror and I wanted to see the body of a woman as well. Big is Beautiful and I loved myself and got a few guys who go down on me without nothing in. return more so than when I was skinny or the less weight I am now.

Being bold enough to get piercings and being bold enough to only wear what felt comfortable for me. I got to heal my inner child as I was a child a teen but still a child and that style matured as I got older. but being bold enough to be 13 in 2009 with a tutu, fluffies while everyone is looking at you crazy because they don't understand your fashion is something only few get the wonderful opportunity in feeling.

Learning about other beliefs other than Christianity because to have the best manners in the goth scene means to be open minded about other religious background no matter what.

Never judging anyone we all have a past.

a Book written by the Lady of Manners and her YouTube channel also called the same title of the book Gothic Charm School. was one of my favorite books a wonderful book on teaching why it was so important to have manner while being Goth. the different "types" of Goth their are.

Treating everyday like a new life has been given to me and is a day to celebrate because death will eventually happen.

being bold enough to put bleach on my hair at home over and over over again for decades. before to dye it different colors.

There are a lot of things being Goth has shaped me to be the woman I am. which is a a very open minded person
