to wear short sleeves/shorts when i veil?

I'm wondering if it's appropriate to wear a short sleeve shirt or shorts if i choose to veil. I'm considering veiling full time but wonder how I'll stay cool. I'm also wondering about wearing bathing suits. I'm veiling for modesty and devotion to God. I just am not sure if showing my arms and legs would go against the modesty part.
