MUST EAT IN NOVENA!!! $10 cafe food? 😋

did you know that there are tons of amazing food options at 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗮? 🤩🤩🤩 here are some great ones i have discovered during my internship the past few months~ 👀 the ones i have narrowed down in this list range from $5 - $20, and are my favourite go-tos for lunch (although some are not budget-friendly haha...)

IT LOOKS SO COLOURFUL AND PRETTY 🌈🌈🌈 & it tastes soooooo good!!! i usually get sushi rice as the base but they offer quinoa, brown rice, & soba too 👍🏻 you're also able to choose a heaping 7 toppings; pretty generous i would say~ lastly, for proteins they have chicken, tuna, and salmon, with the latter having many marinated options such as mentaiko mayo, spicy miso, etc.

i’m sure many of y'all have heard of this bagel shop before HAHAHA it's on the pricier side (~$15) but the portion is really good and it's stuffed with ingredients!!! you're able to choose from a range of bagels but i would suggest against the blueberry one as it's pretty sweet... worth the hype! 😃

a casual hongkong style shop that sells breakfast type food…? very simple but delish, & their tea is pretty good!!! besides bread, they have noodles & rice too 😋

located behind construction works, i would consider this a hidden gem… their mains hover around the $10-$12 range which is pretty reasonable! quite a good selection of food & everything was pretty tasty~ one of the most affordable cafes i’ve been to!!! can get pretty packed too but food was served rather quickly 👍🏻

quite a household name for quality coffee!!! tried their caramel latte & it had the perfect balance of bitterness & sweetness… their coffee’s on the pricier side ($7+) but they have a really good deal of a pastry + coffee for less than $10! not sure if this is available daily but managed to snag this deal in the morning ☺️

filling yet satisfying meal! they offer chicken, duck, fish, & beef sets, inclusive of your choice of 2 sides; i added the onsen egg for $1 & it went super well with everything!!! the chicken & spinach were very well seasoned… delicious… 🥰

A VERY POPULAR LUNCH SPOT AMONGST THE WORKING CROWD HERE!!! located just beside united square, there are always snaking long queues during lunch time… i love coming here because the boss is extremely friendly & welcoming… man remembered my order despite it only being my 2nd time there then LOL 🥹 great service & good food at a very affordable price ($3+)!!!

tipo!!! known for their handmade pasta, they have a different selection every now & then~ what’s special about their noodles is that each one has a different “flavour”…? such as that of lemon & pepper, sriracha, paprika, etc. you’ll definitely be trying something different upon subsequent visits 🤩 great pasta indeed!!! i do prefer the vibe & ambience of their other outlet at aliwal street though HAHAHA

tried many mala places & i would say that this is my favourite… spicier than other places but very shiok and yums 🤤 not sure if the standard is consistent throughout their different outlets but give it a try if you’re in the area!!!
