You guys may not know this but Koreans loveee #mala so there are tons of Malatang restaurants across #korea especially #seoul β£οΈ
I went out to try them while I was on exchange there and hereβs a list of the best mala Iβve had in Seoul:
1οΈβ£ Sonokong Maratang
π Location: Hongdae
π Opening hours: 11am-10pm
βπΌ Review: First of all I love how their name is literally βSun Wu Kongβ LOL π This was actly one of the first malatang stalls we visited bc its ratings on Naver were rly high at 4.5/5 and damn were their ratings justified π€© So many ingredients to choose from AND the broth was so nutty and delicious I just simply LOVE IT
2οΈβ£ Hotang Maratang
π Location: Sinchon
π Opening hours: 11.30am-9.30pm (3pm-5pm break)
βπΌ Review: This was a pretty random malatang restaurant we stumbled into after school (we were on exchange at Yonsei University whose campus was at Sinchon) and it was unexpectedly good too?! The broth is pretty standard but their beef brisket is deffo one of the best Iβve had π€€
3οΈβ£ Rahwakungbu
π Location: Hongdae
π Opening hours: 10.30am-10.30pm
βπΌ Review: This was also another random malatang restaurant we happened to see a sign for at the entrance of the main Hongdae shopping street and it was no doubt one of the best malaxiangguo Iβve had π Just LOOK at the colour of that mala guys!!! It wasnβt too salty or too spicy - just slightly too much βmaβ (numbness) for me but other than that itβs a rly rly good mala dish π
Hope this helps ~ I liked them all so I suggest adding any one of them to your #seoulitinerary β€οΈ
