Dating someone safe isn’t a bad thing! It’s not about settling but more of making you feel comfortable and giving you a safe space 🤍

so, how to know if your partner is “safe”?

💟 are they receptive to feedback? 💟

You should be able to share with them your opinions openly, for example things like “I didn’t appreciate the tone you used just now… ”, “you did XYZ that really bothered me” etc. (Of cos don’t make it paggro)

they don’t have to change but being receptive to feedback allows for more open communication and helping each other becoming a better person for the other!

💟 do they take accountability? 💟

If your partner is always putting the blame on someone or on you, major 🚩🚩🚩 ! If you’re gna spend the rest of your life with one person, he/she should be able to own up to mistakes and say “sorry it’s my fault”.

It doesn’t always have to be mistakes, sometimes my bf OTs a lot and he would come home to say “sorry I haven’t been around much lately but …. “

💟 do they respect your boundaries?

Do they actively listen to you? When you tell them things or share about your struggles how do they react? Do they genuinely care for you?

after learning about this topic I felt that actually I wasn’t really a good partner for my bf 🥲 I was never really good in communicating, it stresses me out as a people pleaser but I started to realise that my needs are important too and if I don’t say them out loud, my partner can never be able to help me.

so, sis has got some improvement to do!!
