Commuting in Paris 101 📌 from a girl living in 🇫🇷

Public transport in paris is pretty well developed but I feel that the ticketing system is a nightmare 🥹 especially since there are increasingly more checks on tickets and fining people 😞

here’s some tips for you if it’s your first time in the city of love! 💙🤍❤️

👉🏼 𝐻𝐸𝐿𝒫𝐹𝒰𝐿 𝒜𝒫𝒫𝒮

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗺𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 is the most accurate navigation app according to all my parisien friends! Google maps will get you around fine mostly!

î𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁é app will be helpful to top up your cards and to check for updates (train strikes or line closures etc.)

👉🏼 𝒮𝐼𝒩𝒢𝐿𝐸 𝒯𝐼𝒞𝒦𝐸𝒯𝒮 𝒪𝑅 𝒲𝐸𝐸𝒦𝐿𝒴 𝒫𝒜𝒮𝒮?

• weekly passes runs strictly from Mon to Sun, means if your travel is Wed to the next Wed you would need 2 weekly passes

✅ if you’re going to Disneyland, Versailles it could be worth getting the pass so you don’t have to think about all the different zone tickets to buy

​ 💬💬 you can get a Navigo card (like EZ-Link) at any of the counters metro counters!

• single tickets are zone specific be sure to know exactly which could be difficult to navigate

• if you’re only staying in paris city centre, single tickets will be enough, you can buy a set of 10 to get a bit of discount!

• not all metro stations will have lifts 🥲 so just be aware with all your luggages and also if your have elderly parents

• metro stations are a hotspot for pickpockets so always be aware of your surroundings!

• recently there have been more ticket checks by the officers to see if you’ve validated your ticket or if you bought the right ticket, make sure you do if not the fine is up to 60€ 💸💸
