Save these tips so you don’t end up like me! 🫣

If you’ve never been to Europe and are planning to, let me warn you - it can be a huge cultural shock. Recently I’ve travelled with friends who stepped foot for the first time in Europe and i learned from them how different Europe is from Singapore!

☎️Reception is not great everywhere

Europe is pretty well connected with free wifi, but in certain areas of a city you can lose reception and data. One example is in London and Paris, you’ll not have both when you are in the underground stations. This can be a PITA cos google maps will not work :) Sometimes in certain restaurants you might not have reception as well, especially if the buildings are super old.

❄️Forget about having air con

My best tip would be to NOT travel Europe in the summer. It’s wayyyy too hot, too crowded and air con is almost non existent - except of course in shopping centres or hotels.

Sometimes, buses and trains might not have aircon as well so it can get quite stuffy for long transport journeys. I have learnt to layer well so that I don’t die of heat indoors🙈🍂

🚗Travelling time of 1h is very normal

The cities are so huge that sometimes you can take 1h of travelling time, just 1 way! In London, we stayed slightly outside of the city centre to save a bit more money and we had at least 45 mins of train journeys, even taxi rides can be up to 40 mins! In SG we’re too used to reaching almost anywhere in 30mins 🫣

🪩Petite girls (mirrors are very high)

This is super random but I’m a petite girl 157cm, and i realised the mirrors are placed so high i can’t even see my own reflection! Anyway usually most accommodations will have many mirrors but the toilet one can be pretty outrageous haha its now a running joke🫠
