This is one of my best reads so far this year. The story moves at a really good pace, sprinkling the world building throughout so you get right into the action. Oraya is an interesting heroine. Fearful of her dangerous world–a human surrounded by vampires–but still very strong and very capable. Totally on board for the back and forth between Oraya and Raihn, I love me some quippy banter and Raihn is just the right amount of morally grey. If I have one complaint, I think the magic systems could be better explained. Though I probably should have, I'll admit that I didn't see the ending coming! I'm about 60% through the second book and I think the story gets even better.
