FINALLY got to eat our wedding cake (1 year anni)

We got to eat our wedding cake again, a year later! It’s been sitting in my parents freezer since last June and coming up on our 1 year anniversary, it’s been one of the things we’ve been most excited about!! Unfortunately, it didn’t go quite as we planned🥲

Things that were disappointing about our year old cake:

1. DRY - idk what I expected considering it’s been frozen for the past year lol

2. Hard - again, idk why I was expecting it to taste like it did the first time

3. Flavor - our cake originally had 3 tiers so the one we saved was the top tier, the smallest one. Each tier had its own flavor and filling. We couldn’t remember what this tier was so it was a shock to us when we took a bite and it was lemon🍋 not sweet, but SO SOUR.

Although our cake was a lil disappointing, it was such a fun anniversary and also so fun that we were able to take part in this little marriage tradition🫶🏻

Overall, I do recommend to eat your leftover cake on your 1 year anniversary because it is so fun and exciting, just don’t expect it to taste the same as the first time😅🥲
