let’s chat: working out during pregnancy 🤍

when I was pregnant with my son, I had such a hard time staying active during my first trimester. I was just so sick and exhausted, but once I hit the second trimester, I felt great and was right back in to working out, and stayed active the remainder of my pregnancy. however, my workouts looked a lot different than they do now. I would get in about 20-30 minutes (which is really you need) and stayed with mostly cardio and very light weights. this pregnancy is different though. I haven’t been nearly as sick, I feel so much stronger, and i’ve been able comfortably, and safely, continue to lift weights, and stick with my 50 min workouts. I remember the looks I would get walking in to the gym with my big ol pregnant belly, and getting awful looks and comments about how i’m not being safe, but the things is, working out during pregnancy (AS LONG AS YOURE CLEARED BY YOUR DOCTOR) is not only safe, but has so many benefits! I will say, that training at a women’s only gym has been so encouraging this time around. so many mothers, and other pregnant women, are in there cheering you on and supporting you.
