$36k Reno Home Tour Part3: Peanuts Common Bathroom

Part 3 of our house tour is on our common bathroom. Our common toilet doesn’t actually fit our home Scandi-boho style. It is randomly made to be black and white with a Peanuts Comic theme. While making a coherent theme for the house seemed like the way to go, we do wanna insert a few quirky elements to our place to unleash our inner child. Haha!

✨We used black fittings!

We got all the black fittings from Taobao. It is known vastly that black fittings may have some issues like decolourising in future. So far, all our black fittings except the basin tap is holding up well. Parts of the black coating has came off from the tap after one year! I think it is because the tap was a complimentary one that came with the sink but the rest are mid range products of better quality. So a tip for you guys is to purchase a separate tap of a better quality instead of using the default one that came with the sink.

✨We did overlay tiling for one side of the wall.

For our feature we placed a strip of black and white patterned tiles in between white tiles. We actually got the extra hdb white tiles from our neighbours so those were free! The patterned tiles are from Hafary, I wanted something that resembles doodling (Peanuts Comic) and that was the closest!

✨Our sink cabinet is custom made.

While I’m a Taobao advocate for furnitures, we did not get our under sink cabinets from TB. This is because the quote given by our contractor is quite reasonable and also because the sizes of the cabinets and top has to be very precise due to the small space. I remember searching high and low for a good design and size one Taobao and gave up at the end.
