Before my trip, I heard numerous comments about how shopping in Shanghai can be pricey. Sports brands like Nike, Adidas, and Hoka, along with popular labels like Supreme, Stussy, and Carhartt, are indeed more expensive here. However, there are a few local brands that’s worth to shop for!

🛍️ HERE ARE SOME OF THE SHOPPING PLACES I’VE VISITED IN SHANGHAI:

-📍Mason Prince

The only Mason Prince store in Shanghai that spans three floors. The store's interior & layout is super dope, with a modern aesthetic that makes browsing enjoyable. Each level feels like stepping into a game. 😂 We spent several hours shopping for t-shirts and hats, with prices starting at around $30. It's definitely a must-visit!

-📍Supreme

This is the first Supreme flagship store in Shanghai. My husband & I are fans of Supreme and have visited the one in Paris. We noticed that prices here are higher, with t-shirts priced around $100 SGD. Nothing really stood out to us, so you might consider skipping it, especially since the location is a bit remote & there isn’t much else to explore nearby.

- 📍Brandy Melville (BM)

Need not introduce to BM, this place is a hotspot for many Gen Z shoppers. I called it a place for xmm clothes. 🤣 BM in Shanghai is three stories high & offers a vast selection of clothing. I ended up convincing myself to buy since the prices are about $10 cheaper than in Singapore & they are simple & basic which match my style. They also give free pins and cute stickers at the counter, which makes shopping expensive even more fun!

-📍Basement FC

Another spot for Gen Z clothing, similar to BM, that offers a wide selection of basics. It's three stories high, with prices ranging from $20 to $30 SGD. The quality is comparable to BM, but I think it's not worth it since the prices from SG Blogshops is comparable with better quality. After an hour of shopping, I only found a vintage singlet I liked.

-📍W Management

The second place I visited has a similar concept to BM and FC, featuring a broad selection of trendier clothes at comparable prices. I ended up buying a basic grey top for around $28 SGD, which felt a bit pricey for its quality. While checking out, I was surprised by how good-looking the staff were, cause all of them are so tall and well dressed. 😂

- 📍Urban Revivo

Located along Nanjing Road, Urban Revivo spans two floors and offers a concept akin to Zara. Prices are slightly lower than in Singapore. Although nothing particularly stood out to me, I believe it’s worth checking out for its seasonal items.

- 📍LookNow

This cool store features clothing from local brands and a selection of Jelly Cats. If you’re a fan of Jelly Cats, it’s definitely worth a visit!

- 📍Harmay

Renowned for its minimalist design and stylish ambiance, the store features a curated range of skincare, cosmetics, and lifestyle products from both local and international brands at discounted prices. However, I didn’t find the overall pricing to be particularly low. Still, they offer many small samples at reduced rates, such as lipsticks, body lotions, and perfumes. I ended up purchasing a mini YSL compact powder that I found adorable. 😂

- 📍Miniso

It was the largest Miniso I’ve been to, with two stories. I bought a ton of Sanrio items, especially my favorite, Cinnamoroll. They even had Mofusand keychains that I saw at the Three Little Girls store in Suntec, but for double the price! I regret not buying more to bring home. 😿

Besides the places I visited, there were a few local brands that I didn’t have time to explore, such as The Monday Sleeping Club, Common Rare, Tagi, and TWOI Design Lab. Definitely worth checking out! That concludes my China post, & I hope you found it helpful for your trip. Until next time! 🫶🏻
