long haul flights can be challenging and uncomfortable, but here are some tips and tricks you can follow to help you survive your journey 💭

1. choose the right seat: try to choose a seat that gives you maximum comfort, such as an aisle seat for easy access to the bathroom or a window seat if you prefer to sleep. i highly recommend choosing a seat with extra legroom for more space even if that means paying more for it! trust me, you won’t regret it.

2. dress comfortably: wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and shoes that you can easily slip on and off. dressing in layers can also help you adjust to the temperature changes on the flight!

3. stay hydrated: drink plenty of water before and during the flight to prevent dehydration. avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can make dehydration worse. i know this might be difficult for some people but caffeine can also thwart any attempts you make to get some serious rest on your flight.

4. move around: get up and walk around the cabin every few hours to prevent stiffness and blood clots. you can also do some simple stretches in your seat.

5. bring entertainment: bring books, movies, music, or other forms of entertainment to keep yourself occupied during the flight. don’t forget to bring headphones or earplugs to block out any noise.

6. pack snacks: pack some healthy snacks to keep your hunger at bay during the flight and you can also bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.

7. use travel accessories: travel pillows, eye masks, and earplugs can help you sleep more comfortably on the flight — tried and tested!!

8. time your sleep: if you want to sleep on the flight, try to time your sleep according to your destination's time zone as this can help you adjust to the time difference more quickly! learn from my mistakes and dont spend your entire flight binge watching movies because you’ll end up feeling super exhausted by the time you reach your destination and you do not want that!!
