Long haul flights can be both exciting and daunting. Whether you're embarking on a new adventure or heading back home after a wonderful vacation, the hours spent on a plane can feel endless sometimes 🥺

As someone who travels rather frequently, I've been on my fair share of long haul flights, and I've learned a few things through my personal regrets along the way.

To prevent you from going through the same regrets as me, I'm gonna share some of my fav tips here to help you survive your next long haul flight ✨

1. Dress comfortably 👚👕

Wear loose-fitting clothing that you can move around in easily. Avoid wearing anything too restrictive, such as belts (you'll have to take them off and on through security checks) or tight shoes but don't look too sloppy as well.

I once wore a pair of denim shorts on a long haul flight, and I regretted it the entire time. The shorts were too tight and short, making me feel really uncomfortable and cold on my flight.

2. Bring your own entertainment 🎞️

This is more important if you're taking a budget flight, but could be equally useful on full service carriers in case your in-flight entertainment system doesn't work — it happened to be before and I was so bored on the 13h flight because I was caught unprepared. Now, I like to bring books or download movies on my phone before my flight.

3. Stay hydrated 💦

Drink plenty of water throughout the flight. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as these can dehydrate you further. In fact, hydrate your face too, with a facial mask. Nobody will judge you, I promise.

4. Get up and move around 🚶🏻‍♀️

Walk around the cabin or at least just stand up every few hours. This will help to keep your blood flowing and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

I am a window seat person, and I usually am too paiseh to disturb my seat neighbours but my legs felt swollen and bloated after an extra long flight (15 hours) 🥺

5. Bring earplugs and an eye mask 👀

This will help you to block out noise and light, and make it easier to sleep. You'll be surprised by how much they help!
