TW: 🩸 | I EXTRACTED 4 TEETH & WAS PUT TO SLEEP😩😱🦷

Hi Lemon8 babes!

Wisdom teeth extraction is done by SOO many people in their 20s but I don’t hear much about it so I’m here to share how the process went for me if you’re thinking about doing it! Time to be an independent woman and #CelebrateWomen with these tips!

i did my wisdom tooth surgery w Dr Winston Tan @ Mt Elizabeth - its private, slightly more ex but i did mine here bc a friend of mine did hers here as well and it seemed good so i went for this! didn't want to go public bc i didnt want to wait too long :')

i decided to go for GA because i am super scared of pain and i didnt want to have to go through it twice (i needed to take out 4 and they recommended removing twice at one time under LA) hence this choice. I had never been put to sleep before so i was super nervous LOL it was rly the only thing on my mind for like the 4 days before my oral op.

the procedure was p straight forward, i picked a suitable date and had to fast for 6 hours - i had a p shitty timing tbh 12pm so I didn't eat bfast and lunch :') so my 'last meal' was rly the dinner before. I was scared shitless but i told myself im just gna be knocked out so the only pain i will feel will be the needle into my arm for the anesthetic LOL

i was damn giddy when i woke up so the nurse had to move me to the resting area and i sat there high af and my whole face/mouth was numb. no need to explain much abt this part - just imagine the normal extraction numbing but x100 - anyw i rested then i went home w my parents with the meds

When I got home the pain hit me like a shit ton of bricks and i took the two panadols and some strong ass 12 hr working painkiller on top of that - my left side was suddenly damn pain and i was SUPER SCARED of feeling the pain. so i had my gauze in my mouth and i was just in bed trying to feel better. eventually maybe aft 2 hours i spit out the gauze and went back to sleep.

I was super hungry but my whole mouth was damn sore and tender so i didnt want to eat - my mom bought porridge so I had some n then ... at night i felt super nauseous (might have been a side effect to the GA) and i vomitted twice - worst worst feeling ever.

Day 2: here my face was starting to swell up and i couldnt eat much - all soft food

Day 3: my swelling was the worst here. it was like so big that when i tilt my head down i could legit feel like the whole cheek moving downwards. my swelling was rly p bad ngl maybe bc my bottom two wisdom teeth were more complicated to get out (?) the doctor gave it back to me in pieces LOL so i dont think it was a simple job for those teeth.

i iced my face ALOT - but did not help at all :( i felt ugly n bloated and really frustrated. none of my friends had swelling this bad!! this was the worst day - slept alot too

Day 4: Dental clinic called and they asked how i was doing. They recommended warm compression instead of ice - apparently ice only works on day 1 LOL so i did this n LO AND BEHOLD it went down - albeit a little but i was happy to see progress.

On this day my face was actually looking more like a face instead of a papaya / square so i could see that the swelling was starting to go down! I ate fried chicken with Xavier but peeled and i could do minimal chewing! progress :)

Day 5: this day was fine - applied warm compression most of the day

still minimal eating, couldnt open my mouth fully but felt better

Day 6: TODAY~ feeling 80% back to normal but eating is still an issue... can't really eat hard/chewy/meaty stuff so had to rly chew slowly. Everything still feels tender

But i dressed up and went out to town as I had to collect my passport! felt alot better than being cooped up at home - had genki but so much rice was stuck in my mouth so I gave up ... we had ice cream after HAHAH the best best food during this period honestly. It makes me full and tastes amazing :)
