You guys know we recently took a trip to New York City, and we actually stayed in two different hotels. I’m going to review both hotels for you guys, so here’s the first!
The Freehand Hotel
- Located in Flatiron at 23 Lexington Avenue
- Room rates range from $250 to $600 per night; rates fluctuate based on dates
- We paid about $300 per night during Fashion Week
Pros:
- Located in Flatiron, this hotel is super centrally located. It’s a quick walk from Soho, Gramercy, and the East Village, and a 15 to 20 minute cab ride from the Upper East Side.
- There are tons of good breakfast spots nearby including Zucker’s Bagels and Ralph’s Coffee. There’s even a coffee shop in the lobby!
- For the location, this hotel is very reasonably priced based on other rates in the area.
Cons:
- The rooms were SUPER small. I know NYC hotel rooms are traditionally small, but these took it to a whole new level tbh.
- There was little to no natural light in our room which was a major bummer for me.
- The bathroom was super small and there was no space at the sink to even place a makeup bag.
Honestly, I don’t think I’d stay here again. The lack of natural light and getting-ready-space are deal breakers for me.
