Part sports romance, part mafia romance, this is a slooow burn that backseats the relationship between Andrew and Neil but that’s what makes it so interesting!

Neil Josten has a tortured past. He’s hiding from his scary father when he gets recruited to play Exy (a fictional sport similar to lacrosse) for the Foxes. Over the course of the books he’s trying to keep up with the competitive nature of the sport, get to know his team, and in particular, Andrew.

Andrew’s past is just as fraught as Neil’s, but his life has made him hard and prickly. He acts as Neil’s bodyguard and always has a knife up his sleeve!

I knew nothing about this series going in, but I wish someone had just told me that despite the craziness, it feels realistic and raw. I’ve never read anything else like it. I felt like I was living in the dorm, watching Neil get through it all. I wish there were three more. I love the drama. But check the trigger warnings, particularly violence and noncon scenes.
