Destinations for your birthday month

My birthday has never been exciting, its always just been another day. It’s probably because it’s exactly two weeks after Christmas and one week after New Year’s Eve. I think it’s been an after thought because everyone is always over celebrations and I never know what to ask for. A few years ago I started a tradition of where I’m going to take back my birthday and start to celebrate it. The very first year I went to London, then Madrid, Florence, and this year I might go to Oslo. Now I specifically think you should go to Europe for your birthday and thankfully I’ve carefully considered the why each of these destinations would be perfect for each month. Oh yeah since this is a birthday celebration the prices are a little higher but hey treat yourself.

January- I’d go to London. The weather is mild all the best things are pretty much inside and all of the stores have sales. I’d stay at The Covent Garden Hotel and eat at Gymkhana

February- I’d go to Paris. There really is no better place to buy a birthday present and the prices for hotels are usually at their cheapest. I’d stay at the Grand Powers and eat at Chez Ami Jean.

March- I’d go to Amsterdam because well it’s Tulip season and that’s a good enough excuse. I’d stay at The Pulitzer and eat at The Duchess.

April- I’d go to Lisbon! Its rather inexpensive and you truly don’t have want to go to Lisbon when its much warmer because there are just too many hills. I’d stay at the Bairro Alto Hotel and eat at JNcQUOI Avenida,

May- Since I believe May id the beginning of European summer I’d head to Mallorca before it gets too busy. I’d both eat at dine at La Residencia.

June- Again it’s Euro summer so let’s head to the beach. I personally would go to Hvar. Since it’s our birthday and we’re splurging I’d stay at Palace Elisabeth and dine at Fig.

July- This may not be the most obvious place for July but it’s actually the best time to go to Iceland! In Reykjavik I’d stay at The Edition and dine at the Reykavik Kitchen.

August- Again not the most obvious choice but Stockholm is stunning in the summer! I’d head to Stockholm and maybe enjoy one of the many islands in the area like the locals. I’d stay at Ett Hem and dine at Lilla Ego.

September- If you want to be a room of strangers that feel like family I’d head to Dublin. I’d stay at The Wilder and dine at The Seafood Cafe.

October- We’re going to Copenhagen! I truly love this city and its great time of year to embrace hygge. I’d stay at The Grand Joanne and dine at Aamanns 1921.

November- If you’re surprised we haven’t gotten to Italy don’t worry I didn’t forget about my favorite country. In November I’d go to Florence it’s the tail end of harvest season and truffle season is in full swing. Plus hello Gucci. I’d stay at The Portrait and dine at La Giostra.

December- Last but not least we’re going to Edinburgh! We’re going to embrace the Christmas decor and markets and just take it all in. We’re going to stay at The Balmoral and dine at the Witchery.
