Don’t make this budget travel mistake

I went to Bosnia back in June because social media told my friend it was a hidden gem. Now I personally had no idea where Bosnia but I said yes reluctantly knowing we would only be there a few days before going to Montenegro. Once I knew we were going I quickly did some research and found a few articles saying that Bosnia was a hidden gem. While yes there a few beautiful areas most of the country has not recovered from the war and is rather run down. And while you would think they would be happy to have tourists they actually were very unfriendly and would have preferred if we weren’t there. Again social media is right that is cheap like $100

a night but its also the only country in Europe I have ever truly felt unsafe. And the craziest thing is they have their own currency but they literally had no atms to withdraw money from. I think its funny because if you capture the right moments like I did in the pictures its idealistic but in reality it’s very unsafe and unfriendly. Basically what I’m saying is don’t trust everything you see on social media and for now skip Bosnia.
