Perfect itinerary for your first trip to Italy

If you have been dreaming of a trip to Italy and have no idea where to start then this is the perfect Itinerary for you. Now you can always add on the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, or Sicily to this but, if you have never been I'd start with the classic cities. I'd fly into Venice and spend two nights there. I'd wander through the canals, hop on a gondola, and experience the magic of Venice. Then I'd take the train down to Florence and spend nights there. While I was there I'd go the Uffizi, grab wine from a wine window, and stroll the Ponte Vecchio. After Florence I'd hop on the train and head to Rome. I'd spend 3-4 nights there. While in Rome I'd try the four types of Roman pasta, see the Sistine Chapel, and explore the Colosseum.
