Who doesn’t love Poshmark, Mercari, Ebay and other reseller platforms? I have been selling beauty and other products on platforms like Poshmark and Mercari for years. And it can be a great side hustle, however, be ready to hustle. I would say, if you are thinking of giving it a shot, definitely try it. The biggest hurdle is finding / buying the products to sell, but if you can figure that out, everything else is quite enjoyable.

Pros:

+easy to manage if done on a smaller scale

+creating your own schedule

Cons:

-having stock (constantly having products to sell)

If you are the person who is constantly traveling or relocating or is storing stuff in the storage unit, this might be an obstacle for you. Sometimes products sell after a long time, such as 6 months or a year, therefore, the more products you have to sell, the more storage space you need. Luckily in case with beauty products, they don’t take up that much space, however if you were to go home decor or fashion route, you would need to be finding the way to store items very quickly.

This year, I got a chance to closely work with a professional Posher. I saw how that type of business is done from inside out on a grand scale. The person behind thousands of listings was almost living out of the storage units around the city, having to constantly photograph and organize the products, as well as pack and ship them. And I’m sure that the job is quite rewarding, however, that is a definitely a cost to pay if you are doing something like this full-time. It is very hands on, and not a remote type of work that you can bring anywhere with you.
