REAL Talk: Struggles of being an immigrant 🇺🇸😢

Dear Diary,

5,5 years ago I have moved by myself at the age of 19 all the way from Russia to Los Angeles, California 🇺🇸 to pursue my dreams.

I truly thought that by this time, five years later, I will have it all figured out.

As I’m writing this I realize that I have never been more lost, hopeless, lonely and sad in my journey. For somebody who is normally so bubbly and happy and grateful, and have such a positive outlook on life, I have never thought I could even get to this point.

I have truly been living a dream over the years, and I wouldn’t change it for anything else. However, the kind of sacrifices that come with an immigrant journey, let known of themselves sooner or later. One of those things for me, for instance, is being unable to see my family these past 5 years…so heartbreaking 💔

But you know what? Hardship is what makes people. If you have been through a lot you wouldn’t connect with somebody who hasn’t.
