Entertain your dogs with Snuffle Mats

💡Why we bought it

While searching for dog toys to buy as a gift for another doggy friend of ours, we chanced upon snuffle mats. We were attracted by the colourful designs of this particular mat and thought it would make a good present. We ended up adding another one to the cart so Maruko and Juliet could have their own.

⛳️Material & Durability

The snuffle mat is made out of felt cloth materials that are sewn and glued together. The variety of textures and shapes create different challenges and makes the activity more stimulating for the dogs.

The material is pretty durable if your dog knows exactly how to retrieve the treat. Maruko is super efficient while Juliet sometimes bites and tugs at the mat so we have noticed a tear in one area of the mat after using it for about 8 months.

🍖Treats

We recommend you pair this mat with small dried treats. Our go to is ERA Functional Snack from Pet Lovers Centre because the treats are cut into small equal bite sizes that are easy to tuck inside the folds of the mat. This snack has a strong aroma that helps dogs find the treats.

⚡️Entertainment value

Maruko and Juliet get super excited every time they see us take out the mat. This activity instantly brightens their mood as they are highly food motivated.

We noticed that Maruko tends to find the treats faster than Juliet so we let Juliet have a go first and drop Maruko in about a minute later 😂 We let them do this activity together so that they can bond and learn to share resources.

⏰When is this suitable

We bring out the snuffle mat occasionally in the afternoon at around 5pm after they wake up from their nap. This is around the time when they get the most excited so snuffling helps burn some of their energy.

We will also bring this out for the dogs to play with when the entire household goes out for Sunday lunch. This keeps them occupied for a bit and reduces their separation anxiety.

💰Price & Value

We bought this on Shopee for around 16.50 which is pretty reasonable for a toy that the doggies want to play with repeatedly.
