💡Issues faced when styling a small pup

When it comes to dressing your small pup, it can be hard to find accessories that fit them as most will be designed for medium to large dogs. Ribbons can sometimes be too big and sweater sleeves too long.

💡Top tip

A trick we learned is to search for cat accessories instead of dog accessories when googling. This opens up your options by a lot.

🎀Here are some of Maruko’s favourite accessories to look stylish

1️⃣Small bandana

This is by far our favourite way to style Maruko. A bandana can easily elevate your pup’s look and it is comfortable enough to stay on for the entire day.

2️⃣Colorful collars

Collars with graphic prints are another simple was to accessories your pup. We recommend getting a safety quick release collar which prevents choking accidents especially when your pup plays frequently with other pets. One thing we noticed is that most cat collars are by default quick release collars so that is a plus!

3️⃣Sweater

When picking out clothing, the trick is to only select sweaters that do not have sleeves. Sleeves on regular sizes dog clothing will tend to be too long for your small pup so I would advise against getting those. If you are up for it, you can also follow a pattern online to crochet a customised sweater for your pup like we did here for Maruko’s pink sweater.

4️⃣Sun hat

Lastly, a sun hat is a great accessory for photo taking. Maruko has gotten many compliments from this photo of her with the sun hat. She is wearing a size M here.
