Hi lemon8 people! 🍋

Months ago, I buat masalah dengan my skin.

I terlupa (again) to take my makeup off. Tapi ada lagi worse. I completely and utterly destroyed my skin barrier. For some reason, I decided it would be untuk guna chemical peel dekat rumah then I exfoliate my skin not once, but three times and paling salah steps I pakai heavily (fragranced) moisturiser. I jarang ada masalah skin, so I macam okaylah nak buat sesuatu yang baru dekat my skin.

Sounds painful, kan? Well, I can confirm it was.

Lepastu fast forward dalam 2 hari lepas tu I perasan my skin breakouts yang tiba tiba.

So, kalau you experiencing rasa pedih, kulit you kemerah merahan, rasa tegang, kulit texture kasar and sangat oily tapi dalam masa yang sama dia dry. Yes, tu tanda your skin barrier dah damaged. And this post untuk you! But thank god selepas m putting these steps into practice, I was able to heal my skin barrier in around 2 weeks macam tu. Here’s the exact routine;

Cleanser:

— Now is the time to SIMPLIFY your skincare routine. Three or four steps is all you need, but the cleanser you use is key. An oil cleanser will break down any SPF, I’d recommend you avoid wearing makeup for a few days to avoid aggravating your barrier.

Moisturizer

— Cari moisturizer ya g lightweight tapi texture dia thick sebab thick texture dia macam a big drink of water for extremely dry or dehydrated skin. 

Usually thick moisturizer ni I akan pakai setiap malam and my skin immediately felt more hydrated, less tingly and happier.

Sunscreen

— Apply sunscreen setiap hari!! Dengan your barrier yang rosak, it’s more susceptible untuk terkena sun damage and sun burn, which means you memang kena to be EXTRA careful around the sun. If I keluar tengahari I literally drowned myself dengan sunscreen (reapplying every hour).

Basic Skincare

— Apa apa pun elakkan active ingredients dulu contohnya retinol, vitamin c, AHA & BHA. I stop dulu pakai semua ni and focus untuk heal dulu. So I akan back to basic ( Cleanser > Toner > Moisturizer > Sunscreen ).

Repeat the steps and have patience. It will heal – tapi kena ingat, it always gets worse before it gets better. You kena allow your skin to go through the process of regeneration because peeling is healing. Jangan panic, cuba try apa yang I buat dulu. Hope it helps!
