This was one of my favorite projects last year. I ended up DIYing several vases after this because of how easy and affordable it was to make this vase look aged and vintage.
📃 THINGS YOU NEED:
Baking Soda
Latex Paint
Gloves
Thrifted Vases
Sealant Spray
Cheap Brushes
Matte Black Spray Paint + Primer
☝🏼 STEPS:
1. Okay so for this project the first thing you’re going to do is put on some gloves because your hands will be used during this process.
2. Then you’re going to pray the vase with your matte black spray paint. I also like to get inside because you will see it if you have a wide-mouth vase.
3. Next you’ll mix the latex paint with the baking soda - I like to use enough baking soda to cover the amount of paint I put on the plate/box.
4. Then you’re you’ll start a fresh coat of paint. I like to brush it on for the first coat.
5. Next I will do my second layer by dabbing the paint & I will do this about 2 coats
6. The last paint step is to use your hands to smooth the dabs (if you want). I find that it creates a more seamless and realistic look.
7. Finally, seal your vase and wait for it to dry!
Lmk if you try this out!
