Rating Natural Deodorants

To preface, I am a sweaty girl, like I literally drip sweat. Natural deodorant is meant to combat odors, but doesn’t do much for sweat. At the beginning of this year I found out I am allergic to aluminum in regular deodorants and antiperspirants, so I’ve embarked on a journey to test out multiple natural deodorants to find the best ones!

Lume

Rating: 3/10

I was looking for a travel deodorant to take to Coachella and put in my Fanny pack and the only travel size I found was Lume. Overall the scent is strong enough to combat any trace of BO, but at the cost of smelling like a bug spray. The texture is also really creamy and I’m not a fan of that, I feel like it gets chunky when I sweat.

Salt & Stone

Rating: 9/10

This is the longest lasting out of all the natural deodorants I’ve tried. I’ve tried two scents, Santal and Bergamot. The Santal has a much stronger scent and is slightly masculine, but not in a bad way. The Bergamot has a much more subtle eucalyptus scent. This one has tapioca starch which also helps decrease the amount of sweat. The only downside for this one is although it decreases the amount of sweat, when I do sweat you can see the white drip stains on dark clothing.

Saltair

Rating: 2/10

I had high hopes for this one because I love their body wash and lotions, unfortunately this one was a complete dud. The scent is great upon applying, but only lasts for like 10 min before the scent starts combining with BO. I also still uncontrollable drip sweat and it also leaves white marks on dark clothes. Do not waste your money on trying this one.

Necessaire

Rating: 8/10

This is also one of the longest lasting scents. The Eucalyptus scent isn’t too subtle, just strong enough to get a nice spa essence. The scent last all day, I don’t even get a hint BO at the end of the day. This one is more of a clear serum, so it goes on clear and doesn’t drip white when you sweat like all the others. The only downside on this one is that it doesn’t do anything to help decrease the amount of sweat. I still sweat a lot wearing this one, but at least I know I will not stink regardless of how much I sweat!

Sol De Janeiro

Rating: 9/10

The deodorants smell as addicting as the lotions and body sprays and as a pleasant surprise, this natural deodorant works pretty well! I’ve tried the original ‘62 and the ‘40 scents. The tapioca starch in this one actually helps decrease the amount of sweat from my armpits, but isn’t clear so does leave streaks when I sweat. It smells amazing for most of the day, the only downside is that towards the end of the day the scent starts to get a slight tinge of BO, but since they smell so good to begin with when they start to combine it doesn’t even smell bad. My boyfriend still likes to take a wiff at the end of the day when I’m wearing this brand!
