Traveling Abroad Tips

I traveled to Italy last year for a study abroad, and I figured I’d share some advice based on what I learned through the experience, in case anyone on here is nervous for their study abroad or travel in general!

1. Safety first!! Travel with a buddy or a tour group if you can, and always be aware of surroundings. Carry pepper spray or one of those alarm keychains, and always pay attention to your purses/bags!

2. Be a tourist, but experience the little gems outside of the major cities too. I had the most fun traveling to smaller cities, hiking trails, and hidden restaurants that aren’t always in the spotlight!

3. Embrace the culture. Try to learn the language, customs, and manners, it will make the natives respect you more and you will have a much more fulfilling experience.
