As I enter into my third trimester on Monday, I’ve been reflecting on the last 27 weeks. Being that this is my first pregnancy, there were so many unknowns. So many worries and what-if’s.

But I’ll be honest, I have really surprised myself! My anxiety has been minimal and I’ve been taking everything in stride. It’s really been a great experience so far!

One other thing that has surprised me is my lack of bad cravings. I used to think when you became pregnant, you immediately craved pickles and peanut butter (and all the other weird combos we’ve all heard).

Surprisingly that’s been so opposite of my experience. Instead of a desire for all the bad (but so delicious) foods I’ve eaten before, my mind went to fruit and vegetables. Now don’t get me wrong, there is certainly the occasional sweet or salty craving. I listen to my body when I get those cravings and I give in, I just am more mindful to be careful not to overindulge because the heartburn and indigestion are very real right about now.
