Raising a daughter in today society 🙂

Let’s be honest, raising kids in todays society can be extremely overwhelming. The issues that we face today is it’s own topic but here is five things I’m implementing while raising my daughter:

🌺 Encourage assertiveness:

I make sure my daughter knows it’s okay to say no to a hug or any form of physical touch no matter how it is (which really irritates some members in my family). She knows to tell people to “respect her body”.

🌺 Encourage a healthy body image

I will never talk down about my body in front of her. Am I the most confident? After two kids, not at all. Does she know this? Nope! Their body image starts with us.

🌺Encourage independence:

So many times, I want to step in and show her how to do things but that’s only hurting her in the end.

🌺Let her express herself even as a toddler :

This means she can wear what she wants. Idc if it matches, she’s comfortable in it so I’m going to let her rock. Kids don’t need to be “aesthetically pleasing”

🌺 Let her lead:

Figure out what she is interested in, not what I want her to be interested in.
