Can Black Women Grow Hair?

As I am on my hair journey, I keep facing this stereotype. Surely it is because I’m a black women that is growing my hair out.

At one point in time, black women had a harder time when it came to hair growth because we had fewer resources available. Just like anything in life, you must learn in order to succeed. Black women have much more access to information now and we have learned how to properly care for our hair.

Growing hair has NEVER been the problem. Access to information was the problem.

I don’t know everything and I never will but after going to cosmetology school and taking the time to learn more about my hair, I have learned how to better care for it. As a result, my hair is growing.
